Embracing HR as a Vital Organ

As we know, human anatomy is comprised of many internal organs, all of which serve a critical role. The adage, you can’t have one without the other is an accurate statement. Embracing HR as a vital organ is paramount to the successful operations of your business.

As leaders it’s so very crucial to avoid making decisions in a vacuum, i.e. without your HR thought partner being actively engaged in the strategic conversations. HR is usually aware of the heartbeat of the organization and can lend voice to viable options that will also weigh team impact. If you have HR seasoned experience readily available they should be engaged in strategizing the direction of the organization.

Fact - change not only impacts the assets and operating costs, but change impacts the people as well. If the people aren’t properly considered when implementing change, the fine details can be overlooked or disregarded, all in pursuit of crossing the finish line.

Yes, the finish line is definitely important, however, if you don’t have a team to help your business to cross the finish line we typically refer to that as an “L” for loss.  Loss of staff due to turnover, loss of trust, lack of engagement, loss of confidence in leadership and low performance are a few examples of what loss can bring.

A seasoned HR partner can and should assist in helping to support the health of your organization. Affirming yes, HR is a vital organ!
